VFR-Flight Planner Version 1.5b VFR Flight Planner is the complete, easy to use, flight planning tool. Features Include: * Heading and Distance Calculations including Magnetic Variance * All Wind Components and Fuel Calculations * Check Points for Enroute Pilotage and Deadreckoning Calculations * Printed Detail of each Leg with Headings and Facility Data * Unlimited number of Flight Plans may be Saved and Edited * Auto Routing - via Airports, VORs and/or NDBs * Automatic Weather Briefing and Flight Plan Filer via DUAT * All Public U.S. Airports, VORs, and NDBs - all completely Editable * Airport Unicom, CTAF, Elevation and Runway Data * VGA graphics of Route and Radius Map * Weight and Balance with VGA display of C.G. Graph * Pilot Log Book with Statistics and Selective Search * Full Color Pull Down Menus * Full Mouse Support * On Line Help * Pop Up Calculator and Calendar Scheduler Given departure and arrival facility identifier, the program will quickly calculate and plot bearing and distance between any two facilities. Wind direction, wind speed, true air speed (TAS), fuel burn and climb and descent times are then entered for each leg of the route. The program quickly calculates head wind, cross wind and tail wind components, ground speed (GS), wind correction angle (WCA), fuel usage, flight time, magnetic course and magnetic heading for each leg and totals for the route. Additionally up to 8 check points may be entered for each leg, to aid in enroute calculations. Time and fuel usage between each check point are automatically calculated. An unlimited number of flight plans may be saved, recalled and easily updated at any time. Each flight plan may contain any number of legs. VFR-Flight Planner provides automatic log on and retrieval of weather briefings, wind data and filing and cancellation of flight plans via DUAT. Simply fill in the Flight Plan Form and VFR-Flight Planner does the rest. Weather briefings can be displayed and printed as needed. The Auto Routing feature will locate and calculate distance and heading between facilities for all available enroute VORs, NDBs and airports. This route may be easily edited to suit the specific requirements of the pilot. The Pilot Log Book features include selective search of log book entries based on date, equipment type, aircraft and/or facility. Totals for each log book category, including landings, are displayed. The route may be graphically displayed and printed (VGA only) showing distance and bearing for each leg of the route. A radius map of any facility can also be displayed and printed. The entire route can be printed, including the calculations and facility information for each leg of the route. Many popular dot matrix, laser jet, ink jet and desk jet printers are supported. The program comes complete with the National Flight Data Center's (NFDC) U.S. database of public Airports, NDBs and VORs. Data includes facility identifier, name, type, state, latitude, longitude, magnetic variance, elevation, airport CTAF and Unicom frequencies, VOR and NDB frequencies and airport runway data. Additional fields for manual entry of AWOS, ATIS, Tower and Approach frequencies are included. Miscellaneous information of any type can be entered into the database in memo format. The facility database can be easily edited for the user's specific needs. The number of facilities that can be contained in the database is, for all practical purposes, unlimited. The weight and balance feature will calculate total weight, total moment and center of gravity. Weight and balance data can be saved for an unlimited number of aircraft. The program will display and plot a weight and center of gravity (C.G.) graphic (VGA only) for your specific airplane, based on the current weight and balance data. Features also include a popup calculator and calendar scheduler, Flight Plan filer, standard pull down menus, and full mouse support. Help is available at any time by pressing the F1 function key or clicking the right mouse button. This demonstration version is a fully working copy of the program, with the database limited to those facilities within Colorado. VFRDEMO.EXE contains all the program files, will expand to about 1.6 meg and must be installed on a hard drive to run. To extract, simple type the downloaded filename (ie. VFRDEMO.EXE) and press return. To run the program, type VFR and press return. The documentation can be printed, by selecting "Utilities/Documentaton" from the main menu. The complete program is available by sending $ 59.00 US and diskette format to: Pierce Software Steve Pierce 2248 Apache Ct. Ft. Collins, Co. 80525 [FNL] (303) 484-8788
